Duck Hunt

Duck Hunt is a shooting game that requires the Zapper. There are three game modes to choose from:

Duck Hunt

This game starts with your dog jumping into the grass to scare out a duck. Shoot the duck out of the sky - you can only use up to three bullets for each duck, and you only have a limited time to hit it before it flies away. The bullets you have remaining at the end of a round will be tallied up for bonus points. Different coloured ducks move at different speeds.

Game B is the same as Game A, only there are two ducks at a time, and you still only have three bullets to clear them both.

Clay Shooting

Clay Pigeons are fired over your head into the distance, and you have to hit them out of the sky with your three shots. In later rounds the clay pigeons move faster.

VS. Duck Hunt

VS. Duck Hunt is the arcade VS. Multisystem version of the Famicom/NES lightgun game Duck Hunt. However, it differs in a few ways. The game is played in three-stage rounds: a duck hunt stage, a clay pigeon shooting stage and an all-new bonus game. You can only miss a certain number of targets in the first two stages.

Stage 1

The classic Duck Hunt stage. Two ducks will fly out of the grass and you have to shoot them out of the sky with three bullets before they fly away. If you miss a target your hunting dog will laugh at you. Clear 12 ducks to move on to the next stage.

Stage 2

In this stage (Game C on the NES version) two clay pigeons will be fired into the distance, and you have to shoot them with three bullets before they land. Unlike the NES version, if you miss the dog will appear from nowhere to taunt you again! Clear 12 to move on to the Bonus Stage.

Bonus Stage

In this minigame, exclusive to the arcade version of Duck Hunt, ducks fly out of the grass and straight off screen. Shoot as many out of the air as you can for bonus points. No penalties for missing this time, but to keep the round going you have to be careful not to shoot your dog, also jumping around in the grass.

Once the bonus stage is over then you move on to the next round, where the levels repeat, slightly harder and faster this time.
