Information

The kingdom of Grandbell had been at peace for many years. Without warning, the armies of Prince Gandolf of Verdane descended on Jungby Castle, and the troops kidnapped Lady Edin. News quickly spread of the invasion, and several groups of resistance set out to save the land. Lord Sigurd of Chalphy is the first on the scene.

What sparked these events? What kind of plot is going on behind the invasion? Is there a possible link to the ancient Dark Lord Loputousu?

The fourth in the series of Fire Emblem games. In this game, each chapter is played out over a large map with multiple castles and missions to accomplish. Clearing the enemy troops is your main aim, and gaining experience through battling is the only way to succeed.

The basic actions of the game remains the same as previous installments. You move the army characters one by one across the landscape, defeating enemies in stat-led battles and gaining experience. If you lose any of your army then they will remain defeated for the rest of the game. This has a knock-on effect, as certain new recruits and items can only be found by certain characters.

Each of the chapters is also separated by a significant time gap, effectively separating the game into two major time periods. The characters you play as in the first half can converse on the battlefield, and if a male and female character fall in love, then they can have a child who will take on some of each of the parents' traits in the second half of the game.
