Sci-fi action adventure starring Juno and Vela, and their cybernetic pup, Lupus. As team Jet Force Gemini, the trio travel the galaxy, policing the insect armies of the evil Mizar. Despite the attempts of many planets to put an end to Mizar's reign, he has only grown more powerful. When the Jet Force ship is invaded, the trio split up and head towards the planet of Goldwood, home of the Tribals.
You start just being able to use Juno as he meets the Tribals and battles his way onto one of Mizar's ships. From there he can free Vela and later he will find Lupus as well, and all three can be used on any planet. Each character has differing abilities, allowing them to go places in levels that the other team members can't.
At the base of the game is the action. All three members of Jet Force Gemini have guns, and they can collect various ammo upgrades. If they run out of ammo then they will resort back to the weak laser. In some cases, all enemies in an area must be defeated before you can move on to the next, and in others you may have to talk to someone or activate something to get through. You can also rescue the Tribals on each stage, and if you get them all then you get a special ending.
As you play, you will travel to many other planets and spacecrafts. You will meet friends and foes who are vital to the mission and the story, and you even get to play some sidequest games - such as the Floyd races.
On Rare's website, the webmaster needed a character to appear on the questionnaire page. Unable to get hold of a render, Leigh Loveday (the website maintainer) created Mr. Pants - a stickman wearing a pair of red underpants and a bowler hat. He became so well known through the website that he started making cameos, including two in this game.
Ants Into Pants
Collect 300 ant heads to unlock the "Ants Into Pants" cheat. This changes all of the basic ant drones into crude 3D models of Mr. Pants.
Mr. Pants Hieroglyph
On the planet Tawfret, one of the hieroglyphs depicts Mr. Pants.
