In Kirby Air Ride you take to the circuits of Dream Land as you race around on Stars. Acceleration is automatic, so all you have to worry about is steering and boosting around the courses, trying to place first. It's not just circuit racing either, there's also a top-down racing game, and a City Trial mode, where you have to power up your star to take part in a series of minigames.
There are no cups or goals in this game. Instead you have to complete challenges (over 100 for each game mode), and the more you complete, the more you find out how to beat. Some are very simple, some force you to explore and perform tasks, and more are devilishly difficult. You may also unlock new stars, characters and events by completing the challenges.
Sword Kirby
As in previous games, the Sword Ability gives Kirby a green hat and a blue-hilted sword, based on Link from The Legend of Zelda series.
