Super Smash Bros. References

Master Hand

Master Hand & Crazy Hand

During the game, you face a miniboss named Master Hand, a giant hand who originally appeared as the final boss in Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Later in the game, you have to face a boss battle against Master Hand and the insane Crazy Hand, who was also one of the bosses in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Smash Ability

Smash Ability

After defeating Master Hand or Crazy Hand, you can inhale them for the Smash ability. This gives Kirby a huge variety of attacks, based on his moveset in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Master Ability

Master Hand

During the final boss battle, and thereafter available from the level select screen, you can equip a glowing golden sword and gain the "Master" ability.

This is based on the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda series. Kirby's ability icon even seems to be a parody of Link after he pulls the sword, but with Kirby in his place.
