When an evil witch named Drawcia enters Dream Land, she transforms the landscape into paintings. Kirby tries to come to the rescue, but he is turned into a ball by the witch's powerful magic. Luckily, Drawcia's magical paintbrush escapes and decides to help Kirby rescue his world.
In this massive adventure, you have very little control over Kirby. As a ball, all he can do is roll around. Tapping him will cause him to dash, taking out enemies in his way and stealing their powers. Most of the time you will have to draw rainbow paths to guide Kirby around the world. You only have a limited ink supply when not on solid ground, so you have to plan your painted paths and walls carefully.
During the main adventure, you have to find your way to the goal of each stage. The three medals hidden in each level can be traded in for unlockable modes and items in the Medal Swap mode. Clear all three stages of a world and you will have to face off against one of three bosses, each one getting more difficult each time you play them.
Extra modes include the Time Trial and Line Trial modes - in the first you have to reach the exit of a short stage as quickly as you can, while in the other you have to get to the exit using as little ink as possible.
On Paint Roller's minigame, you may have to draw a number of cameo images:
