Block busting puzzle game starring Kirby and his friends. Pairs of blocks fall from the top of the screen, either Kirby's animal friends (Rick, Kine and Coo), or Star Blocks. Clear blocks by pairing up the same animal, and clear larger portions by sandwiching Star Blocks between two of the same animal. Creating a chain or combo will make stars fall from the top of the screen, helping to clear more of your blocks.
As the game progresses the speed increases. There are also other modes of play, including a multiplayer mode.
Kirby's Star Stacker (Super Famicom)
An updated version of the game was released for the Nintendo Power download service on the Super Famicom in Japan. Aside from the graphical and sound enhancements, the game also features a story mode where you have to compete against characters, mostly from Kirby Super Star.
The game later received a standard cartridge release. It was rumored to be released as Kirby's Super Star Stacker outside of Japan, but by 1997 the SNES was no longer a supported system.
