As people capture Pokémon and battle them, they forget about the importance of nature. This is where the Pokémon Rangers step in - vowing to protect nature, and protect the Pokémon that live there.
As in all Pokémon games, the aim is to capture as many Pokémon as you can - but this time the aim is to round them up to capture them. As you travel the game world you will find wild Pokémon, and can capture them by encircling them with the PokéAssist (stylus). Their attacks and other Pokémon may prevent a successful capture, so you have to work tactically and quickly to catch them all.
When you capture a Pokémon, its skills can be used to help you clear paths, and even improve your ability to catch other Pokémon. There is an element of puzzle solving, as finding and catching the right Pokémon to accomplish the tasks set for you by the head of the Rangers requires exploring the map thoroughly.
Near the beginning of the game, one of the characters will explain the Button and Touch control methods:
As for me, I always use my stylus for getting around. You know, I'm from the "Touch Generation."
"Touch! Generations" was a brand associated with Nintendo's casual games suitable for all ages.
