Sim City

Your aim as mayor is to build and sustain a happy city. You have a limited budget with which to increase your city every year, and you have to keep your residents happy in order to increase the number of people who move in, which in turn will increase the money you receive in taxes. This means building enough roads, attractions and commercial/industrial districts, and paying attention to rising pollution, crime and traffic.

You are helped along the way by your assistant, Dr. Wright, a bizarre character based on Sim City series creator Will Wright.

Cameos

Bowser Attack!

One of the natural disasters that can damage your city (or that you can intentionally cause) is an attack by Bowser from the Mario series. He destroys everything in his path as he searches for Mario and Luigi.

One of the scenarios you can play is set in Tokyo, Japan in 1961 where you must rebuild the damage within 5 years after a Bowser attack.

Free City U.S.A.

There are six scenario cities to play, and a further two that can be unlocked. One of the unlockable cities is called Free City U.S.A., where your task is to build a Megalopolis of 500,000 people in the Midwest named "Marioland".

The scenario is set in 1991 (the release year of this game), and the only geographical feature is a forest in the center of the map in the shape of Mario's face.
