Luigi's Mansion 2

Announced at E3 2011, this all new follow-up to GameCube launch title Luigi's Mansionfeatures new ghosts to suck up with the Poltergust as well as multiple haunted mansions to explore.

Scenes shown include an Egyptian style temple where Luigi is attacked by a Mummy, and artwork and screenshots for the game shows the return of King Boo and Professor E. Gadd.

Paper Mario

Announced at E3 2010 and shown again at E3 2011, the fourth title in the Paper Mario series goes back to its RPG roots. Mario must team up with a variety of characters to help him battle his way through enemies. New summon attacks take advantage of the paper aspect of the characters, such as scissors for slicing up the battle scene, or a fan for blowing away the enemies.

Kid Icarus: Uprising

The first game to be shown at E3 2010 for the Nintendo 3DS was the unexpected return of Pit and Palutena after a hiatus of almost 20 years. Developed by Masahiro Sakurai's Project Sora, the development team behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

The game is split into flight and on-foot action segments. Between levels, Pit gets five minutes of flight before his wings burn up. He then enters ground-based action sequences where he must use a variety of projectile and melee weapons to take out enemies.

At E3 2011, more footage of the game revealed new characters and locations in the game as well as a multiplayer battle mode.

Animal Crossing

The latest in the popular life simulation series was revealed at E3 2010 and more footage was shown at E3 2011. As well as overhauled designs for characters, taking advantage of the new system's graphical capabilities, the game also has new features, such as swimming, diving and having characters follow you around the town.

The new footage also showed a character dressing in Link's clothes and hat from The Legend of Zelda. It is expected there will be many more cameos hidden in the game.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games

Mario and Sonic return to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games with a new set of sporting activities. More details are expected closer to release.

As with other Mario & Sonic olympics titles, Nintendo will publish the game in Japan and Sega will publish the game in the US and Europe.

The Rolling Western

A new franchise that will be made available through the 3DS eShop. The Rolling Western is a Wild West themed action title starring an armadillo named Jiro. He can roll around to attack enemies and break open rocks and other objects. Upon coming into contact with an enemy, he has to take part in timed action minigames.

The game also seems to feature elements of strategy, requiring you to upgrade your town's defenses to keep the monsters away.
